Hi.
A friend of mine visited recently the Nihon Ki In, he is around 6k, and bought this books.
I am sure the left one is tsumego, but I am not that sure of the second.
Would anybody provide me more help on the names of the books?
Dankenzon

Re: Go books name
If you put the ISBN number from the back of the book into amazon.co.jp it will show you the Japanese name of the book, and description.
Then paste the japanese provided into https://translate.google.com
That will give you some idea.

Marcel Grünauer wrote:The left one says 古典詰碁の世界, which means "The world of classic tsumego", by Rin Kanketsu, if I read the name correctly. It seems to cover Gengen Gokyo.
Also Shikatsu Myoki, a difficult tsumego book by Honinbo Shusai.

And I'm guessing this is a compilation of what he did for Go World where he took your favorite "chunking" to show readers ways to solve the harder problems.

Marcel answered, but I did mean the currently running Japanese Go World. The old English one was Kiseido published and not AGA and looked to be translations of the Japanese magazines of the time.

There seems to be another volume that covers Gokyo Shumyo, Kanzufu and Igo Hatsuyoron, see http://www.nihonkiin.or.jp/publishing/b ... ryoku.html
The right one says 出る順て学ぶ 実戦死活, which means something like "Learn real-game life-and-death by their move order", but I'm not sure about the 出る順 part. The book presents basic shapes, shows the move order through which they occur and then has a list of variations as sub-problems. It's by Yamashita Keigo. Thank you Marcel!!
