deepzen and zen7 on tygem

Post by maceta »

do someone know what bot is Zen7(B) from japan? it starts to play today on tygem. DEEPZEN(B) is also playing there same time. could Zen7(B) be commercial version of deepzen?
btw DEEPZEN(P) - win vs lose is 652:88 for last version of deepzen which start to play on tygem on 20th of october 2017. all games with pros.
Zen7(B) - win vs lose is 17:12. opponents seems to be not pros, but all tygem 9D.

Remember with bots, it is not just the program/version that is running but also what hardware resources it is running on. Do we know what those are? The commitment of hardware resources sufficient for some of these programs to be at their strongest is not trivial. For all we know, the machines in question are not 100% allocated to playing go but sometimes doing other work as well.

I am also slightly chuckling at all of this, how we can be surprised that one of the stronger programs can have trouble winning all of its games against human players of this strength. How short a time ago we would have been surprised by a go playing program winning ANY of them.
