Is it time that Pair Go stopped its flirtation with absolute time limits. The variation created to attract women to the game, and to reinforce the stereotype that any man can look sexy in a suit has at its core an evil which must be exposed. There is nothing attractive about winning the game by playing stones in your own territory while 50 points behind. How many times does it have to happen before organisers will choose a time limit which affords the game with the respect that it deserves?
Yes, the IAPGC has a super tight schedule, but not 1 other amateur pair go tournment in the world can say the same.

Re: Pair Go Reform
One of the rules is "avoid unmannerly conduct". It would be a shame if many pairs are deliberately violating this - it's not something I've encountered much of in pair Go.

Re: Pair Go Reform
Long ago in New Mexico we used to play what we called Tandem Go (Tandem Go is Random Go
). We found it a slow game because the partners have to figure out what each other has in mind, as well as figuring out what the other pair has in mind. I suppose that the imposition of absolute time limits is a response to the slowness of Pair Go.
