So, I made this topic so we can explore wonderful games of BensonDarr. Nobody knows for sure who BensonDarr is. Guys at reddit and chinese forums think that BD is not FineArt and that it is a zero bot, just like AGZ. BD reached 10d on Fox Go Server and has pretty nice score against pros.

In the attachment below I shortly described my feelings and thoughts about one particular game played couple of days ago. B is Park Junghwan 9p, and W is BensonDarr. They played on Fox Go Server with time settings unknown to me. W's style is just so amazing and fun to watch.

When everyone thought W would extend, surprise! I think the "idea" behind this move is to attack B. I never thought about attacking in this joseki. Just taking teritory.

I've been replaying some of the games in the online eidogo player at http://foxwq.com/qipu/search.html?title=BensonDarr
Several nice big and extra big Knight moves to the centre, reminds me a bit of Kong Jie some years ago.

baduk1 channel has a review of Blackie 9p vs BensonDarr, not such exotic play, it just took all 4 corners and won:

Someone played mirror go as white against BensonDarr. It kept going for 140 move until Benson played near tengen, white stopped mirroring and they had some fighting in which black made more net territory there than komi so won:

I feel like Benson learn to counter mirror by self-played. If it's hardcoded like Zen it wouldn't wait until move 140.

After black 141, who is better? I guess white continuing to mirror might get white killed, but maybe white could do something else?

Looks like black did well to create a situation where playing just beyond tengen was a good move.

It's playing again today; another mirror game. Again a fight which naturally ended up in the centre where they would collapse if kept mirroring, stopped (but too late), and soon lost.

I was lucky enough to see one of BensonDarr's games live on Fox Weiqi. It was pretty interesting to watch the high dans kibbitz on this.
