It has been very slow for several days. I started another thread about it. Probably having timeouts trying to connect.
Still officially AGA 5d but I play so irregularly these days that I am probably only 3d or 4d over the board (but hopefully still 5d in terms of knowledge, theory and the ability to contribute).

It says I have the incorrect password, but I don't. I click the thing to send me a new password, and it does, but it still doesn't let me even with that new password. But it still works with the Android client with the original password.

Perhaps a cookie cannot be set properly.
A good system naturally covers all corner cases without further effort.

If you're using non ascii chars in the pw it might be an encoding problem.

It's doing it with the reset password too, which is all regular alphanumerics...

That is really strange. In the client, a new connection and login is done to the DGS server each time you "Check for Moves"; just like logging in w/ a new browser session. If the server actually reset your password, the client should not be able to connect. This tells me that the server is not resetting your password. That sounds to me like a Database problem; which might be related to DGS specific performance problems others are seeing.

I think there is something funny w/ the server. I suggest posting your symptoms in the support forum on DGS as the Admins don't monitor LifeIn19x19. I am only a Forum Moderator on DGS and do not have access or experience with server software. It would be better to have your description of what you are seeing posted there rather than my second hand reinterpretation. The Admins on DGS have been very responsive, if they know there is a problem.

I wanted to post to the support forum, but I couldn't log in. But it looks like I can post as a guest.

It seems like the reset password feature actually keeps the old password active in addition to the new random password, so I'm not surprised that still works. I almost wonder if my account was suspended/disabled for some reason, but it's somehow not blocking the phone client.

Yes, I just saw it. I will leave it unapproved so that it shows up immediately for the admin when he next logs in.

That would explain the client still being able to connect.
Your account name is not showing in the administered users list, but there are some denial of service blocks if you access it a lot in a very short time.

The phone client logs on and gets the status using a slightly different syntax which you can try from your browser. That might show something different and give more information to track down the problem.

Enter the following 2 urls (substitute your user name and password for DGSUser and DGSPass):
http://www.dragongoserver.net/login.php ... wd=DGSPass
http://www.dragongoserver.net/quick_status.php

To get the sgf of a game the client uses (substitute your game number for the 1000):
http://www.dragongoserver.net/sgf.php?g ... ick_mode=1

The first URL said incorrect password, the second said "#Warning: empty lists". The third seemed to let me get an SGF file but I had to log in as a guest first to find the game number of an active game...

The first url is the important one, it is showing the that login with the quick interface is working the same as the normal browser interface for the password you are typing. If the client is still working then you should be able to login with the password you have in the client. Did you accidentally change the keyboard on your computers to a different character set? Some how the computer is entering something different from what you think you are typing.

That can't be the problem. I used the reset password feature, and I used copy and paste to enter the password I got in e-mail. An admin sent me a new password too, yet it still does the same thing.
