program for reviewing

Post by dsatkas »

I use leela to review my games, but she is very slow. Even the normal version (not the accelerated one) takes up to 5-10 sec to evaluate the position and settle on the best move. What programs do you use for your games and how do you use them? Is it for move by move, only for a couple of moves? Do you play out the different variations? Any help would be appreciated

I've been using LeelaZero + Lizzie UI for the past few weeks for interactive reviewing and have found it very good even though I get <5 playouts a second so have to wait longer than your 5-10 seconds when I want a more reliable judgement (its instant intuition is still usually very strong, so long as no ladders involved!). In fact I've just bought a new computer with a GPU to make it faster :)

Here's an illustrated example of me using it to review an AlphaGo vs Lee Sedol game: viewtopic.php?p=230183#p230183

That exact situation prompted me to start developing
GoReviewPartner. I let Leela run the analysis of the entire game while I am doing something else, then come back for a complete review. Have a try!
