Took me a few months to get around to it. Beautiful photography but a weird viewing experience without English subtitles. I never knew what was going on, where it was happening or when.

The go sessions were filmed with an appreciation for the solemnity and the rituals of professional competition. The production team, the director and cinematographer, either totally understood go or were completely receptive to external creative guidance.

I don't know if there is a functioon in Netflix to activate subtitles on streaming. Couldn't find it with a casual search.

It depends on what device you are using. I get no subtitles on the Roku, but I do on my Wii or my computer.

I watched and enjoyed it. It was an interesting look into an era with so many changes - more so with Go's position as an outsider beset by so many waves of political and social pressure.

I get the option for subtitles on my Roku2 device.
