Please Support Janice Kim’s “Life After Brain Tumor”

I just donated here.

Janice Kim needs our support for „Life After Brain Tumor“
Hi, I'm Janice Kim, 49 year old single mom of two kids. I have a degree in math, and used to write books. This is an MRI of my brain on February 29th, 2019, showing the brain tumor roughly the size of a tennis ball that had been growing for about five years on my frontal lobe. Through the amazing work of two neurosurgeons, Dr. Lewis and Dr. Clarkson (I call them Lewis and Clark in my mind to help me remember) after 11 hours of surgery, the tumor was removed. Unfortunately, pathology showed it to be a level II, meaning that it is not benign, and had invaded about 5% of my brain. I will require treatment every three months for life to keep it in check. I am enormously grateful for everything and everyone that has kept me alive with such compassion, so that I can type this now. I'm a little ashamed to ask for money, because most expenses were covered by insurance that I by some miracle decided to get on January 1st. My neurosurgeons say it may be 12-18 months before I'm fully capable of things like driving, I do about 3 1/2 of therapy daily and I'm making progress in a way that surprises even them though. However, I'm barely getting by, have no sources of income now. I'm somewhat limited in what I can do, so I made a plan to attend my community college in the fall and then try to get a job as a medical technician to support myself. I was too late to apply for federal aid this year, and having trouble just keeping up with my rent ($700 monthly). This money is intended to pay for that year of college. My ultimate goal was really to become an Occupational Therapist, because I was so impressed and admired them so greatly, but after research it appears that would take about five years of difficult academic work for me now, and about $50,000 in tuition. So that may be one of those miracles. Ah well, it is actually a miracle I am alive, so maybe lightning can strike three times.
