I'm not sure if this should go here or if it's a subforum only for AI; my apologies.
Is there a program that extracts kifu images/scans into sgf? If there is, does it handle classic Japanese diagrams?
Thanks. Take care.

Re: Kifu image to sgf?
Those look great, but I was looking for something to work on the paper kifu itself, numbers included, and generate moves. Do you happen to know if it exists? If it can understand iroha numbering it would be a blast. "Basic" Japanese almost a must. And wrote:Ferran, I know for android "kifu snap" (..)
Take care. Thanks for the answer, in any case.
[ADD-ON: Also, the first one "requires" permissions I'm so not going to grant it]

Re: Kifu image to sgf?
With image recognition software improving every day, it's worth asking if there's anything new in this space now?
Personally I'm looking for something I can use on my desktop computer, so that I can feed the results into Lizzie. So kifu-snap, being Android-only, isn't a good option for me.
I've tried Imago. Nice for photos of real boards, but it doesn't seem to cope with diagrams that contain move numbers.

I couldn't find quite what I was looking for, so I had a go at making my own. See viewtopic.php?f=18&t=17355
