One wrong move...

Post by libcat »

Or rather, one of many but this was a very wrong one.

Please see this game on Cosumi:

Or:

(I tried to get the coordinates to show but it didn't work)

I passed after White plays move 30, which was a mistake, because white plays in the lower left (move 32). After than, you can see that I am being forced up the left side of the board. For future reference, what is the best place to play to get out of a situation like this? I gave up quite quickly but maybe should have tried to stop white.

I think might have done a tsumego for this before but I can't think of anything at the moment

Thanks!

After White B2, you can counter-atari with B3, then White captures with A1, and then you play A3.

(A1 being the bottom left corner.)

Here are a few simple variations:

Cheers, jlt. Looks like I definitely resigned too early though it would have better if I played A3 instead of E5.

I really need to work on being patient when looking at the board.

At your level, never resign.
