Go Book Covers

Post by xyzer »

The covers of Slate & Shell books seem to elicit some negative comments. I haven't seen this about the books of other publishers. What go books would you say have really good covers?

the get strong at Go series:

or all about life and death:

all have what I consider to be excellent covers. Slate and Shell covers look like they were done for free/by an amateur but S&S are publishing lots of new books right now so I'm not complaining!

Invincible. The only Go book I'd want to have just because it looks good on a shelf. (Hardcover, of course.)

Kiseido publications are also pretty boring-looking, but beautifully printed and bound.

'The Treasure Chest Enigma' has a great cover: http://www.gobooks.info/h2.html

I kind of like the minimalist cover design of Slate & Shell's "Master Play" series. On the other hand, the cover designs of the "Get Strong at.." series are bit off putting. I'm certain this wouldn't be a factor in my purchasing books from either series though.

Of the English go books available (think I've seen them all) the cover art/design I found most appealing was this one:
