Yasui house on Taiwanese match?

Post by Ferran »

This is one of those things someone's going to tell me "Well, duh!", but YouTube suggested this video to me. It's apparently part of something called the "Friendship cup" of the Taiwanese Qiyuan.

Now, I can't manage to download the SGF. If you want the game, it's also here. Forward to move 25 [24:27 on the video, reflected 9s later on the e-board (*)].

This looks to me very much like Yasui Chitetsu's move 15 [15:24] in this video, only shifted off-corner (and one space "up"). I seem to recall it was a very "Yasui-ryu" move. At the very least, I find it quirky that such a long shape has survived several centuries.

Take care.

(*) Why!? What's wrong with an overhead camera? This only increases chances for error. I mean... AG-LS game 2. Aka, "no, it can't have played that."
