I can't find anything more than when he became a professional (1986.08.01) and when he reached nine dan (1996.06.21).
I'd like to know when he reached 2p, 3p, 4p etc.
I've checked:
* Sensei's Library
* English Wikipedia
* U-Go
* his KBA profile

Re: Looking for the rank progression dates of Lee Changho
Not sure how accurate this method is, but go4go.net has a listing of his games going back to 1988. The games also list his rank at the time, although there seem to be some inconsistencies.
2p as of Jan 1988 (perhaps before that too)
3p Dec 1988
4p Feb 1990
5p May 1991
6p late 1992 (data is inconsistent here)
7p July 1994
8p - no games found
9p May 1996
2p as of Jan 1988 (perhaps before that too)
3p Dec 1988
4p Feb 1990
5p May 1991
6p late 1992 (data is inconsistent here)
7p July 1994
8p - no games found
9p May 1996

Re: Looking for the rank progression dates of Lee Changho
Last time I was looking for rank progression data that wasn't online I found it in the GoGoD Names file. I think I was looking for Hayashi Genbi or some Hayashi.
There is a bunch of information in there. Recently I was wondering if Kyo Kagen and Yo Seiki were both born in Taiwan and Yo Seiki was a pro there so I assumed. Anyway, GoGoD Names also had more info than I could find elsewhere. At least in English.
Check out out if you have it.
