Ditto. (And ditto on the editing the template to prevent the rescaling.)Adrian Petrescu wrote:I'm a big fan of the new logo, but I think it would be even better if it wasn't just a blob in the middle of the header, but rather extended across the entire top. We could continue just the grid or even add more stones. Either way it'll give it a more solid and consistent look than just a brown image on a light-blue background, no?

and what will it look like for people who don't stretch their browser window fully across their screens?

Re: Site logo
If it's done right, there will be a horizontal scroll bar, but nothing else on the page will scroll. (If done wrong, it will stretch out everything else on each page, making things look terrible. Right now it looks like it's done properly.)xed_over wrote:and what will it look like for people who don't stretch their browser window fully across their screens?

Re: Site logo
right, they're not going to stretch it (they all know better than that)... they're just talking about a wider version that fits betterschultz wrote:I personally like it the way it is. If you extend it out, I think it would mess with the aesthetic of the image.

Re: Site logo
Thanks, I'm happy someone likes it. The picture has a bit of perspective so just adding more lines may be tricky. I can recrop it (actual image size is 3700 x something) or take a new photo, but what size or proportion should the extended pic have?
So you've got an eye?

Re: Site logo
It would look, essentially, like this: example. (Note how even if your browser window isn't large enough to display the entire image, it doesn't cause any problems with the layout below.)xed_over wrote:right, they're not going to stretch it (they all know better than that)... they're just talking about a wider version that fits betterschultz wrote:I personally like it the way it is. Personally I like it for the site's main image, but I could handle a version that was reduced vertically for topic pages.

I couldn't resist the urge to declare "I was there when the logo went wonky for five minutes!"Jordus wrote:some work was being done on the template. Will return to normal soon.MountainGo wrote:lol @ super squished logo right now
Apropos, it gladdens me to no end how readily the admins are adapting the site to the desires of the users here.
