Lessons Promotion - Temporary!

Post by Alakazam »

Temporary Lessons Discount!

Hi everyone. Many of you already know I teach on KGS (and in person).

The Canadian Open 2010 in Vancouver is financially destructive for me, so I would like to heal this wound by offering an even greater Go lessons deal than normal, but this deal can only be purchased August and September.

I have received compliments about my teaching from every student, and at the moment I have 6 students. The levels of the students are: 21 Kyu, 10 Kyu, 9 Kyu, 5 Kyu, 4 Kyu and 1 Kyu. I've developed a lot of teaching experience up to now, and I do my best to explain ideas in a way I think such and such level would understand. As I'm in my fourth year of learning Go, I remember very vividly what it was like to be at those levels, and how I thought. Monkey Jump? Wow! It's connected!

I'm a Canadian 5 Dan player, aiming to become a well-established Go player, Go teacher and Go book writer.

My usual rate is $10/hour, but the limited time offer for lesson packages will be as follows:

1 Hour=$10
3 Hours=$28
6 hours=$53
12 hours=$100
24 hours=$192 <--Save $48!

Other quantities can be discussed. I can also do game reviews (live or by mail), group lessons, or anything you have in mind.

The money I earn teaching Go goes back into the Go community!

Thanks!~~

Unsolicited endorsement: I've only had time to take a few lessons from Alakazam (before work devoured all my time during the summer) but they were really instructive. He's really good at understanding the brain of the kyu player and explaining things in a way that makes sense at that level, and his enthusiasm is infectious.

Thanks so much! ^^ I try very hard when I teach, because it is far more enjoyable for me than any other kind of job, and I usually end up going way past the paid time ^^

I appreciate this feedback very much! Makes it worth it.

I agree with everything said here - Ben is a great teacher and the price for his lessons really can't be beaten. In just a few lessons I have had many "eureka!" moments and would definitely recommend him.

Out of interest: what does this mean?
My name is Gijs, from Utrecht, NL.

Probably that he uses the money earned by teaching to purchase go equipment, books, software, or to take part into go events like tournament, congresses?

Yeah usually I spend it on those things, sometimes lessons for myself, although I just started doing that recently. Right now I'm beginning to plan a local tournament hosted by the new Go club I started hosting about a month ago :)
