Oh, it's unusual to do this sort of thing publicly! People who self-nominate aren't always the most detached and objective mods. If somebody would like to help moderate the forum, why shouldn't they volunteer? Some argue that anyone who asks for such a role must be a power hungry censorious maniac, that might be true, but it presumes rather more than it ought to.
