Will future generations of go players someday write articles on how go players used to hold the stones between middle and index fingers when placing a stone? Perhaps.

This technology reminds me of the overlays many sports broadcasts are using. If we had such broadcasts, I could imagine joseki variations overlaid on a game while the players took time to think.

That is actually a great idea. The technology already exists. Would be great for Baduk TV, but also for kibitz on KGS.

There was a hacked KGS client that would highlight coordinates written in the game chat window on the board when you moved your mouse over the chat. It would be great if this was implemented in the real client with the addition of showing full sequences (joseki fights ect).

The person writing that summary clearly does not know the first thing about Go:

Also, although the technology is cool, surely they could have made the stones look better. They seem like they just applied the same pattern that they used on the wood for the stones.

On baduktv, they already play variations out over the board while the players are thinking. I saw them setting it up once at an event I went to. They lined the camera that was over the board up so that when the commentator clicked intersections with a mouse from his screen, they showed up overtop the board when it was being broadcast.

They do this pretty often on baduktv.
