My english is not fluent enough to understand audio lectures. Are there some good french lectures anywhere (IIRC, thera are very few by Fan Hui on GuoJan's site). Or only with KGS+ ? Is there a way to get back old KGS+ lectures ?

For some reason the free lectures on her site don't seem to work for me, though.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
Negative, works fine for me (Firefox 3.6.3).
I downloaded Firefox 3.6.3 and updated my Java client and it's working now. Thank you!

I have listend to quite a few of the lessons on the site and I have gotten alot out of them. For me personnally the Big End Game Moves Lectures were very benificial and really have helped my game.
I have also gone through all the Mini Chinese Lectures and most of the Chinese Opening Lectures and they have been very helpful also.

Re: Guo Juan Internet Go School?
I'd recommend you buy a couple of lectures, or try the free sample ones to get an idea of what the audio lessons are like. There are some lectures in French on the site, but only about thirty-five of them. My French is not good enough to assess the quality of these. Unfortunately none of the French language lectures is included in the "free sample" page.
I voted with my own money, having purchased an annual subscription a couple of months ago. If you can afford the fee, I strongly recommend the annual sub, because the pay-per-lecture scheme only buys you access to each lecture for one month. If you want to listen to the lecture again after playing some games, and trying to put the principles into effect, you will have to pay the one Euro fee again if the month has expired. With an annual sub, you can listen to the lectures as many times as you like.
So far I have only made use of the Audio Lectures, so I can't comment on the private lessons etc.

I have never been able to find out precisely what feminism is. I only know that people call me a feminist whenever I express sentiments that differentiate me from a doormat...

I bought my first audio lecture in July 2007. Last month I paid for the yearly membership. I enjoy this style of teaching, and the membership lets me sample more before studying one in depth.

Re: Guo Juan Internet Go School?
It is safe to say that Guo Juan Internet Go School is the best online at this point in time. I would recommend anyone that is interested in lectures, especially the kyu player, take their group class. For kyu players it is very hard to actually tell what they need to work on and how to do it, so someone who can review their games is very valuable.

Re: Guo Juan Internet Go School?
Greetings,
I second Dante`s comments above. The guo Juan school is tremendous value for money. I paid -85= euro for the year worth of lectures because I also did the group class. It`s like being a kid in a sweet shop although on e has to be careful not to keep jumping around too much. Once it becomes clear which courses you need, to sit down and repeat lectures over and over is invaluable. One finds new or forgotten things everytime. Among the best things, Jennie Shen does awesome lectures on shapes. When one goes back to playing games one can see them instantly and also see that even up to high kyuu level there are certain shape errors in the game which are probably never going to be corrected. By systematically learning to recognize them and thinking about them away from the game ones level slowly and steadily, inexorably creeps up.
One interesting example is playing below extending from the corner star point to the point -below - the adjacent star points. Guo refers to these as low wings and is adamant that if someone does that one should (almost always) immediately jump in with a 3-3 invasion in that corner. An explanation of ow to do this is provided for study. These are the kinds of tips that really push your game to a highe r level.
One of the best sets of lectures is `The Opening Training.` by Guo Juan. Here she systematically teaches the fundamental concepts one needs to know about spacing, direction, how to use thickness plus dozens of crucial josekis. The exercises are used by teachers in China. The courses become very advanced after the initial solid training.
I use the lectures in differnet ways but more often than not I write out the exercises , sequences and josekis and then practice them away from the computer. When I come back to the computer and repeat the lecture I can reproduce the patterns most of the time and then just recheck the explanations which are very detailed.
I also study privately with Guo and she sets me two lectures a week as homework. They are related to points that occur in the lesson analysis we do.
Can`t recommend the school enough,
Best wishes,
Buri

Re: Guo Juan Internet Go School?
I can't give enough praise to Guo Juan Internet School! their audio lectures are simply amazing and they change your conception of the game.
I got from 4-5k to 3k in short time just seeing and applying some of them. And I feel I see the board different.
Don't hesitate: BUY
