Online playing schedule: KGS most nights after 8pm CST. Sundays available anytime but on in the morning and evening.
I recently purchased the Go Seigen Complete Game Records from YMI and I believe if Go's name is on top then he is black and if it's on bottom then he's white, but the problem I'm really having is knowing who won at the end.

I'm pretty new to go, so my ability to count up the total points for each side (or even know who is winning in an area of the board) is still being developed. To be clear, I'm not expecting to learn a great deal from Go's games, but I enjoy playing through them and my experience could only be greater if I were able to know who won.

If necessary, I could scan a game at work tomorrow to use as an example.

I can' help you with your question, but have you taken a look at the Master Play series by Kiseido? They're a great option especially for newer players since the commentary is very detailed. Since they focus on the style of the players they cover, they can help you learn what to keep an eye out for when trying to understand games without commentary.

Since the Kanji are often similar, Basic Japanese for Reading Go Books from Sensei's Library might be a start.

I know no Chinese but from Harlequin's recommendation you can get the characters for White and Black. At the end of game records the result is always stated in terms of the winner, e.g. Black wins by 3 points. If these are traditional Chinese records then the result is reported in "stones", 子. They might use the half-counting method of counting the score in which case the number reported as the winning margin would be half the Japanese or Western number. You can find out more about these things on Sensei's Library. The numerals might also be written in Chinese. Here is a web page that could help in deciphering: http://www.wordiq.com/definition/Chinese_numerals

The most important Japanese Kanji for this purpose are

黒 Black
白 White
2目半 2.5 points (literally = 2 / points / and a half)
中盤 by resignation (literally = in the middle / of the board => board is unfinished)

Chinese character will look similar.

中盤 (Chuuban) is "middle game" in Japanese, not resignation. In Japanese, "Black wins by resignation" is 黒中押し勝ち (Kuro chuu oshi kachi)
