I'd never heard of that before. Just bought it, and will try it on my iPod touch. No iPad version yet, it seems...

I would assume it's because the iPad is large enough that the browser is the ideal tool for the job -- why would you want a stripped-down forum viewer on a screen that big and gorgeous?

Just because?
I was just trying it out; it's actually more practical for viewing forums quickly than having to use the browser, and dealing with potential font size issues.
