Most of them? (that were working under XP, Vista, etc.)

There will be some programs that were working under earlier versions of Microsoft operating systems that will no longer work when you have migrated to Windows 7. But if that were true for more than a smallish minority Microsoft would have faced an impossible task selling Windows 7.

What you do here is for each application that you use (or propose to use) ask whoever makes it/maintains it. They are almost certain to be able to tell you if works, if needs patching, etc.

Note that if software is orphaned (nobody maintaining it) might make that a bad choice of application to get.

Windows 7 != Windows phone 7

On windows 7 almost all programs for Vista and XP will work. WP7 on the other hand needs special silverlight based apps, no idea if there are any of those.

And why two threads with almost the same title?

Please excuse the noobishness. I only got my smartphone two days ago and it occurred to me I NEED go on my phone.

What programs are there our there? Is there an exhaustive list soemwhere?
