I have a good friend who also wants to join. He's only played a few games of Go but he's heard me talk quite a bit about the game. He is Yarhj.179 Platinum. Since we only have a few players this should be no problem, right?

Just to let everyone know, I may be ~10 minutes late (not at home right now), but I'll try to make it on time.

Congratulations to Araban aka Junshin on SC2! He won the tournament with a cleen sweep 4-0.
Unfortunately I messed up the recordings and they were not saved.
I did get an extra game going after the tournament and managed to get that one recorded, so you can see Abydos v NeoNemesis on http://www.livestream.com/killerducky.
I'll probably do another of these next month, I had a good time casting the games, and sounds like the players had a good time as well. Please leave any feedback you have about the format.
Maps -- How did people feel about using the GSL candidates? I was thinking maybe next time we could just have 1 non-ladder map instead of 4 to make it easier to adjust to.
Pairing format -- I was thinking of switching to groups into stratified brackets. It would be like top 2 of each pool go into a top bracket, next 2 into another bracket, and bottom into a consolation bracket. This would keep the spirit of many games for players of all levels. The advantages are easier schedule -- only have to redo all the pairings once between pool play and bracket play. And also sets up a clear finals.

Yeah 1 or 2 sounds good, it felt a bit weird playing on some of those maps which I think comes from playing so many ladder games on the smaller official maps. I think when the GSL and other tourneys start using those maps so spectators can get more familiar with them, then maybe we can go back to 4.

Congrats again to Araban. I really enjoyed our games, especially the moment I saw your Mothership-building Nexus with my Observer.
I agree with the idea to cut down on new maps for the next time. I vote to include Crossfire and Aiur Garden.
