The description of the midnight madness tournament makes reference to a self-paired tournament, but there's no mention of that in the tournament list. What is the self-paired tournament?

At any time, two congress attendees can agree to play a rated game. The results are recorded and impact your aga rating. Also, these self-paired games qualify towards special award categories at the end of the congress. For example, if you are a kyu player and you beat more dan players in self paired games than any other kyu player, you would receive an award.

I think there might be a limit to the number of times you can repeat your opponent for self paired ... I would have to look that one up.

There is a deposit of $75... but I don't see a Congress entrance price yet either. I only see room and board prices.

hello over there, at the north-west side of the atlantic (or the north-east side of the pacific)

are some people thinking the USA is the only place where they hold go-congresses?

When i saw this anouncements i was thinking is this about the European Go Congress not the US one.
or maybe I could be thinking about the british go congress http://web.bethere.co.uk/paul.barnard/s ... /index.htm

(and probably there are other go congesses in other parts of this small planet)

don't be so dominering over there
