Re: Go Videos.
The generally agreed upon beauty with Go is the simple rules that result in a very complex and fascinating game. What could be better than to start with a simple text about the rules themselves and they can explore further on their own. Not a video, but Robert has written some light hearted and easy to digest comments about the rules here:

I liked this series as an intro, don't remember if it talks about tradition: http://blip.tv/file/262606

Re: Go Videos.
Videos are amazing. I especially enjoy the ones of your own games. I'm curious though, do you feel that you play any differently when you're livestreaming? Are you thinkiing things through more or does your mind normally move faster when you don't have to think out loud?

Re: Go Videos.
I particularly enjoy the ones made during your own games. I've seen some strong chess players do the same thing and they're equally instructive. It is really interesting to see both how a strong player thinks and what they bother thinking about in the first place.

(this is where it gets awkward if you are 30+ too AND use twitter and facebook)
On the contrary, i am under 30 and dislike twitter as well as facebook. And yet, they are here to stay. So....

Theoretically, yes, i imagine there would be a program out there able to capture any video streamed onto your computer. There is no such feature on livestream though, sorry.

Background sound is very faint now. But it never really bothered me before.

Re: Go Videos.
Can't stop watching those videos. They explain how to play Go in a very plain, clear and understandable way and at the same time those live games are very entertaining.
One of the best teaching materials I've seen. Thanks, Josh!!

Re: Go Videos.
I agree with the enthusiasm for your "train-of-thought" game videos. It's very informative to us weaker players. For me, it helps on a couple levels. First, it's interesting to see how a 5D player can see tactical situations quickly and accurately, where I would be hesitant and often wrong. Second, I really like hearing the general thinking in the fuseki. You did this in the latest game -- talking about going for influence, what you care about and don't care about, etc. This is all stuff that I know about, but it's very hard for me to put into practice. And, of course, as the game unfolds, I am comparing my own thinking to yours -- what's good/bad, what's important and not, etc.
Anyway, thanks for the game videos. Any that you do, I will appreciate.

Thanks, I'll try and get it up to my normal 7d rating but i doubt I'll be able to. I get a bit distracted while I'm discussing the game.

Good to know! I'll try and go into detail with this when i begin the 5dan series.

Finally got around to watching a few of your videos (the first two against 4D opponents) and I think they're great! I'll definitely be watching a lot more of your past videos and looking for new ones in the near future. Keep up the good work... this is a great service to the Go community!

Glad you're enjoying them. Speaking of the future... I think after the 'mygames' series makes its way up to 6dan on worldbaduk (again, i'll try for 7 but the distraction might be a bit much since I'm not 8d there), then I may start again on tygem, then kgs, and maybe igs. Not sure igs though, games there tend to be a bit long.
I figure it might be a fun way to keep it going since you guys seem to enjoy them, as well as get a bit of a comparison going between servers.

Re: Go Videos.
I watched a couple of the games so far and it has been very helpful, even to a goban larva like me. I do get more than I thought I would out of your comments and a lot of things that I've been reading are beginning to make a little sense now. Seeing a game in action and hearing your comments as to the why you are thinking about a particular move or series helps bring a lot of the problem solving and reading together.
Thanks for this. Can't wait to check out one of your lectures.
