Endgame problem books?

Post by Perception »

More specifically I'd like to get a book of full board endgame problems like what Bill has been posting in the Study Group section (Problem 1, Problem 2). The only one I know of is 新編ヨセ辞典 but it's out of print.

Train Like a Pro has a few but mixed in with all kinds of other problems.

Have you looked at The Endgame by Ogawa and Davies? Chapter 2 on counting has 9 half-board problems, chapter 4, The Macroendgame has 9 full-board problems, and chapter 5 has 20 full board problems from 2 of Ogawa's games. There are also quite a few smaller endgame tesuji problems in chapter 3.
Patience, grasshopper.

I've actually had it for a few weeks now  I just haven't gotten around to reading it. It's definitely next on my reading list now. I'd still like to get some other books too though since my endgame is awful, I need to work on it quite a bit.

After getting the theory and tesujis down from Elementary Go Series, Vol. 6: The Endgame read Get Strong at the Endgame by Richard Bozulich, which includes your whole-board problems. Then for further practice, there is 200 Endgame Problems by Haruhiko Shirae and sections of the Train Like a Pro series by Kim Sung-Rae.

200 Endgame Problems don't contain any problems of this type.

I liked 200 Endgame problems so much. I am just about to reread it, I would recommend that book to anyone.
