Ing Clocks v2

Post by vash3g »

Our club has a large selection of Ing clocks of the first and second generations. The third generation was introduced at congress a few years ago.

Does anyone know how to fix broken clocks? We have some that have the LCD showing all of the digits on the clock and staying that way. We have some that have some of the digits showing up on the LCD and not changing.

I will post pictures of guts and anything else people want to know here while i disassemble and try and fix. Let me know. Thanks!

As an old grumpy, I would love the opportunity to take a large hammer to one of those infernal machines, so why not take them to a Congress and raise money for new ones by selling us grumps the chance to smash them to bits?

Best wishes.

Ive posted a number of pics of the circuit boards of the ing clock. I managed to fix two of them by just disassembling them and putting them back together. Its very confusing.

If your clocks are damaged in a way shown on these pictures: http://imgur.com/a/XXGpE

You might want to try this method: http://www.instructables.com/id/Repair- ... oning-LCD/

I have successfully repaired a couple of them this way. You don't have to use a pencil, any non-conducting tool will do. Don't know for how long this repair will last though, it may be that the glue on the tape is just not as good as in the new clocks and it might need repairing again.

Hope the grumpy man has not killed those clocks yet ;)

Cheers!
