WBaduk client - no korean language in chat?

Post by C. Blue »

I recently look at asian servers more, since there was a great lack of high dan games to watch on KGS, something I enjoy. ;)

Now it seems my old accounts on CyberOrO don't work anymore, does anyone know how long it takes for them to timeout?

Well, I made a WBaduk account, and noticed that I appearently can't use it to log on with in the CyberOrO client, but only in the WBaduk client.
I read this posting viewtopic.php?f=34&t=2908 and it also mentioned in viewtopic.php?p=44478#p44478 that accounts made on either system only get accepted by that one, not by the other. I wonder what truth is behind that "CJK Go policy" mentioned in the second link.

I'd just go with the WBaduk client, but even if my system locale is correctly set to korean language the client will only spit out loads of "foreign language". (The CyberOrO client works fine with korean locale but I'd prefer the WBaduk client since it is in english and because I actually have a working account there..)

Did anyone ever get visible korean chat in WBaduk client instead of annoying "foreign language"?
(I'm using Wine on Linux btw. but I'd also like to know if anyone gets working korean chat in MS Windows..)

Did anyone succeed in talking to an admin lately, in order to get his WBaduk account enabled for OroBaduk too? I tried it couple of times and always got "Administrator is not online right now".

Send an e-mail to CyberOro admin. He will setup your account for CyberOro.

I can only say that I also connect to WBaduk via Wine and I have the same problem on both the Korean and Chinese servers there, despite having language support for both languages on my machine.

The only way to see foreign languages is to have the environment set to English. I've had to go back and forth on my PC in order to get the right language environment. You can now read what's typed in, but you can't actually respond.

Nope. It's a bit of a bug that you can get the game comments at all, so it's unlikely to be fixed. The right way to get it is to get an account on the Japanese one (assuming you want Japanese language) but they only take credit cards from within Japan.

With XP, I use applocale. This seems to work for the most part.

When you say applocale, do you mean applocale with CyberOro Korean Client or applocale with wbaduk the English Client?

Whenever I use applocale, it just screws up the English client for reading foreign languages.

I'm sorry. I was mistaken. I was referring to the Tygem client. I apologize for my confusion.
