Post by thequietcenter »

Hello, I have commented a game I played as Black. I would appreciate any feedback you might have.

A tip for posting games:
You can open the sgf-file in any text-programm (like notepad) and copy&paste the complete content in your post, between [*sgf] and [*/sgf] (without the *).

If you do this, it will look like this:

There are also the tags [*sgf] and [*/sgf] which will produce a smaller diagram.
I will take a look at the game in a minute.

Ed literally said everything I wanted to say, and said it better.

Just one general piece of advice though: the strength of your stones is always relative to the strength of your opponent's nearby stones.

This is one of the reasons for example that your opponent can tenuki at move 6. It is just one on one and his stone is not in danger as it can either live in the corner or run somewhere.

At move 10, you say: "My group is stable but I feel like strengthening it" One understands the feeling, but it leads you astray. You are strong, he is strong, you have sente: it's time to play a big point.

At move 64, your 3 stones are weaker than anything around it. They should be helped first, lest your opponent make big profit by putting them under pressure.
Patience, grasshopper.
