Lee Sedol vs. Gu Li Jubango

Post by Solomon »

Obvious poll. I'm very excited about this, the rumors were rampant but it has finally been confirmed: http://www.tygem.com/news/news/viewpage ... &findword= (in Korean, I don't know why Tygem's been categorized as an attack site...). Winner takes a little over $500,000 . Details still pending between the Hanguk Kiwon and the Zhongguo Qiyuan. I'll write more later, but have to cram for my exam tomorrow x__x.

For me, it all depends on how Lee Sedol handles his recent defeats. He could continue stronger, he could lose confidence - I think on top of his game he's showing incredible strength and form, so I've voted for him anyway, but I'm interested in his next 2 or 3 international tournaments.

Whenever I watch a game of Lee Sedol, my brain gets a stack overflow by trying to connect seemingly unrelated fights. I admire his style full of surprising moves, even though I am far from understanding them.
If you say no, Elwood and I will come here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day of the week.

Don't feel too bad, even fellow professionals have a hard time understanding his moves ;).

According to this report (http://sports.sina.com.cn/go/2010-05-12 ... 0693.shtml), the Korean news source jumped the gun a bit.

Excerpt of the article translated by Google:

The key lies in Guangdong organizer signing the agreement with the Chinese Ki or not, whether the prize money reached the 3.5 million yuan in China Ki-accounts. 可惜的是,这两个关键环节至今都没有进展。 Unfortunately, these two key aspects are the lack of progress so far. 这也意味着,韩国联合通讯社中“古李十番棋终于在今天(5月10日)得以确定。”的报道并非事实。 This also means that South Korea's Yonhap news agency in the "old Lee 10 Fan Qi finally today (May 10) to be identified." The report is not true.

I hope this match happens, and with really slow time control.

I think Lee Sedol would win, but the series would never happen.
