Thanks for all those pictures !

I forgot to said that i need textures without any specular shading, wich is certainly something hard to do if you take a picture. (the specular light is the reflect of any light source on the stone).
If you have time, just post one or two textures. i don't want you to spent hours on this. You can also try to find square textures on the web. It's also working. Many free textures are available. I've try to find shell textures, but the results are not so good. Hope you'll have more luck than me.

Anyway, here are the result with the first stones picture. (the result will be more accurate with a larger image)

Thank you! Yes, I know, when I said "uniform lighting" I also meant no specular light.
But it's very difficult to do with a point-and-shoot camera and no other equipment (like screens)!
I went outside and waited until it was a bit overcast. :)
Did you notice some of the photos are of the "bottom" of the stones? :)
It'd be nice if you have yet another 50% random top/bottom texture!

(Did you fix the wooden grain patterns on the board? They should be vertical (|||)...
or at least, give the user an option for horizontal or vertical grains. :))

But I enjoy this; more photos later.

Thanks again!

I've just post a new video here : http://youtu.be/2Jo2WSFPWhs - With the lastest feature in action. At the end of the video, you can see the first match Mogo Vs Mogo in 3D ! (only the first moves)

Enjoy !

On an unrelated note, but something that has been going through my mind for a while...

People spend so much time, effort, and money to make the virtual world look like the real world. And then people sit and stare at the computer screen for hours instead of going out and enjoying the real thing. Always wondered why people seem to prefer it... with games - there is the 'Save Game' feature so you can restore after you die, but in general?... I think the virtual world is much easier to control, not really for us - the users - but for the people who invest in having the infrastructure implemented. Just think about it, lol. Good? Bad? Ugly? And what does it mean for the future?...

Anyhow - really nice looking stones, dude.
Pretty amazing. ;)

Only - why do you call it Chess when its clearly Go?
Just asking...

For those who are wondering why did i call this soft "u3d Chess" for a go program, i was first suppose to implement chess instead of go, but for many reasons, i had to start with go.
While i was working on it, i also wonder why i shouldn't write one program for all games, and that's how U3DC was born. When i say "Chess" i mean chess board, the generic term.
Anyway, go, is just a plugin in this software, the next "plugin" is western chess as it was design in the beginning of this project. But i really don't know when i will have time to finish all these. You just need to be patient.
