Winners of lower and upper bracket play best-of-three, with the lower bracket entrant having one loss when starting. Winner of that then plays the current champ, Tabemasu, for all the marbles.
Thanks, JTS. Yes, I wrote the above, and a whole bunch of other stuff about the tournament structure. Then we had one last entrant, so I had to redo the pairings. I deleted a bunch of stuff about pairing, and will be reinstating it, just slightly differently. ( Oddly enough, one extra 4D makes the tournament one round shorter )
This time, I'll be a bit smarter. I won't try to post any of the revised stuff until registration is completely over.
But regardless, the portion quoted above won't change.
The one way that the quote might not be true is if Tabemasu does not show. He hasn't been here for months. If we can't find him, or if he isn't interested, then the challenger will be the champ by forfeit.
