to be honest i never think about having a middle game strat. Im usually a territorial player and go with the flow after the opening. So uhh sorry:p lets say i aim to play the kakari top left first and reasses after that. Maybe you could say i asses the whole situation after every move.

@loons
So, in retrospect, would you consider playing a different probe against bottom right? How would black have responded to Q6 if you hadn't played that probe?
Cool dual-purpose move, by the way.
No, I'm very happy with the probe. I'm very unhappy with my hasty followup though. The whole purpose of doing that was to aid settling my group, but that option isn't going away any time soon. Leaving the ability to try to live in the corner would have been infinitely better. With my pincer, I can play to hassle his weaker group and have an ok time with my group anyway, so I just threw away a ton of aji for not very much. It's hardly a game ending blunder, but it was rash.
If I had played it without the probe, I see this as much more likely:
This is definitely something I don't want to happen. I was a bit worried if I played on the lower side, that he'd get to peep at "a", but that doesn't help him much, so I don't know why I was worried. At least he's spent 4 moves on that corner so far
Still, there's a lot to go just yet, and I'm still pretty happy with the board position right now
i like playing like this, it gives me lots of aji later on and i get plenty of cash, white cant make a lot of points since it faces my wall on the right. if white plays at a i can choose to tenuki and choose a lot of options.
i remember something vaguely abouta joseki playing at A but im not sure it works with this pincer stone. playing at 5 looks promising, if white connects at A i can push once more on the lower side and take sente.
Now a move around "a" starts to look very interesting, but I'm guessing will probably be at "b", leaving me more decisions to make. I'm very tempted to contact it if so (with "c"), but we'll see when we get there.
Seems a bit aji-keshi, but nothing special or costly. It doesn't give him sente for E3, and he could have gotten B4 after the sequence I played later, but I'm ok with blocking here.
multiple possibilities A looks small for him, i will tenuki by extending a base on the left side. B, or around B looks pretty solid, saves me the possibility to extend later at A and play at C right away. C, will tenuki by getting a base on the left side

stalkor, the spaces in front of your [go] and $$ are messing up your diagram. It's usually a good idea to use Preview to double check all the diagrams before Submit.
Ok, now the real game starts I think, I presume Black's going to approach the top left next, and I need to get my head around a decent whole board strategy
i would like this continuation, seems ok for both like this. there are a lot of big points left to play. i wont be able to play at A probably with this continuation, but well see after this corner:)

Sometimes, you have to be greedy even if a safe option exists. Besides, playing a greedy move is fun in and of itself and it paying off feels almost like cheating, especially if the risk is a tad unreasonable. That white 46 you're contemplating looks delicious

If I block in the corner and he makes a one point jump out, I don't think the block was worth enough. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be able to resist my

Now, would white really want to answer at 'a'? If the aim is building a big moyo, I would rather go really big scale and play 'b' (or at least 'c', too lazy to read right now). And white already has the corner, which is not only big in territory, but also gives a lot of stability that could come in useful when dealing with an invasion.
