And here it is! This game is definitely worth some commentary. I should add that it was fueled by fermented grape juice and some hoppy beverages. I notice Yang Yilun walking around early in the game, and I fear that we drove him away.

White: Koosh (1d) Judicata (AGA 4k/KGS 3k)
Black: Tofu (4k) and Clack (4k)
Handicap: 2

Special note: After white 179, we switched colors and black won by resignation (I deeply regret not recording the rest). Most importantly, we all had an unbelievably great time.

White should have played F18 instead of H19

I managed to stop by and meet everyone at the table here. (probably just before the photo was taken)

Its so hard to meetup with everyone when I'm locked away in the strong players room recording games all day :)
But I'm having so much fun... and I hope everyone is enjoying the broadcasts

Yes - that was my fault. Koosh saw it, but left it alone. Tofu actually fixed it when they took white after the sgf. I was just happy i saw S19 given the state i was in.

My Round 4 opponent, Mr. Ajmal Popal:
My Round 4 game was a disaster. Aug 4, 2011.

My Round 5 opponent, Mr. Clark Brooks:
Aug 5, 2011. Clark and I met in the late 1980's, in college, in karate -- he was ikkyuu (1st kyu) then, and me a complete beginner...
We were literally beating each other up. :) A few years ago we played 1 or 2 games on IGS.
Today, over 20 years later, we fought each other for the first time on a real go board --
some circle was complete and it was a very exciting game.

How many players were there? Overall? And in the Open?

Congress was such a good time. It was great to meet you guys (especially Judicata, Koosh, and Chew)! Hopefully we will all go again next year.

It was a great trip, really enjoyed meeting you all!

I took a bunch of photos, which I'll be posting when I get home.

Thanks!

BTW, I couldn't help but notice that - alas! - Cotsen was at the bottom of the list. But since he was in SB, did anybody ask him about his yearly tournament? If so, what did he say?

I don't have great pictorials like Ed does, but I have one anecdote from lunch on Thursday. I was picking up a plate of food (no trays!) at the dining hall when the girl behind the counter starts talking to me:

Girl: "Oh, you're here for that go tournament? How is it going for you?"
Me: "So far I'm 3-1, so I really can't complain"
Girl: "That's great! I feel like half the people I talk to have been losing!"

There was then a slight pause where I checked to make sure she was serious...finally couldn't help but respond "Yeah, I guess they had to play the other half..." She just gave me a confused look (=
