Lee Changho in Chinese City League B

Post by nexik »

Originally I post this thread on GoDiscussion but found that the forum died and I was directed to this forum.

Go4Go.net just published two games from 2010 Chinese City League B with Lee Changho 9p.

Maybe someone had more info about Lee's participation in Chinese tournament? If he plan to play more games in China, why not in League A? He didn't feel to be in shape or sponsors force him to show good result before he get chance to play in A League?

The B division is played over a week or so and so is less demanding on a busy player's schedule than the weekly A division games. There is no significance beyond that. Yi Ch'ang-ho is far from the first elite foreign player to play at the B level.

wonder why Go News doesn't cover the B league. Any link to the players names,groups,and/or games of B league?

What is the difference between these two leagues?

His last game he lost, against a Chinese 9 dan. The "B" level obviously isn't that shoddy ;)

which Chinese 9 dan is this? the game records at Go4go only show his lost against a 9-dan came from Won Sungjin (who is not Chinese)...

Lee Changho's two losses came from Won Sungjin (Korean 9p) and Zhang Yabo, a young Chinese 3p.

A video (in Chinese) of Ma Xiaochun reviewing the game between Lee Changho and Zhang Yabo is here: http://www.56.com/u18/v_NTE1NDY2MjM.html. The review continues in other videos.

Hem, my bad, sorry - For some reason I was mistaken on Won's nationality. Either way, I'd argue a Korean 9 dan isn't shoddy either :D
