I figure we can switch up the site logo once in a while to keep the forum fresh.

If you would like to submit some of your work to be considered post it here.

it might be fun to see what people come up with. And special "Holiday oriented" banners as well.

Current banner image size is 550px × 75px

Don't worry, I'm sure with practice and time you'll be able to create logos with the polish, depth, and complexity of wossname's.

The contrast of Déjà Vu's is not so good... red font don't stand up very well against a brown background.
I like Araban's better.

logo will need to be around a the ratio for a 550px × 75px size. otherwise we get the stretching like we ave now.

Is that the picture of Gu Li from an old copy of Weiqi Tiandi?

(Either way, I like it.)

May I also suggest dropping the word "forums"? I think this site may eventually be bigger than just a forum. For example, product database and book reviews.

Fair point, but the image is displayed only on the forums page (for now at least). We could have a series of logos for different pages and then a master logo if it comes to that (Life in 19x19 Reviews; Life in 19x19, etc.).

Ooh, I like Araban's a lot. (The white strip at the bottom looks kind of weird though.) Gotta be careful of that levitation tesuji.

I like both, although Déjà Vu's could use a different coloured font.

Ah, much better. Seeing an image stretched out of the correct aspect ratio gives me hives.

There might be copyright issues with that image, though, so it probably can't be a permanent logo. If there are any photographers on the forum with swanky equipment, mayhaps they'll donate some pretty pictures to the forum so the graphic designers here have some good unencumbered raw materials to work with.
