tygem on mac w/ wine

So I'm trying to get tygem working on my mac with wineskin (a mac wine port). It seems to install correctly, I get a login screen, but then on logging in, it doesn't respond to mouse or keyboard at all. Does anyone have an idea what this might be?

I don't know how to make it work, but through some random hacking I discovered that if you set your screen resolution really low it somehow makes tygem responsive. I didn't try playing, but I was able to browse my past games (played on the ipad) and copy them to kgs for review.
