xSuperbiax' study journal

Post by xSuperbiax »

Hello Everyone,

After a break, I am back into the Go's World.

I was 2 kyu and now probably about the same.
My long term goal is to become 5 Dan on Kgs.

Go Study Plan :
6 days per week, December 01 2011 -> ...

  • Tsumego and Tesuji :
    • Difficult : 30 min
    • Moderately difficult : 30 min
  • Serious games and Review :
    • 1 or 2 games per day : 60 min

I'm planning on studying, taking my time :
  • Attack and defense
  • Fundamental Principles of Go
  • The Direction of Play
  • ...

My first objective is to become more patient when I play.
After, It would be nice if I find a medium-dan sensei.

So, this is the beginning of my journal and I think giving my progress each week.
If you want to see my games or give me advice, I use this pseudo everywhere.

Wow, if you are 1k, then my study plan (in another study journal here) looks pretty steep!! I'm doing less tsumego and tesuji but way more book reading

I think there are several ways to improve and everyone can choose what is best for them.
Books are greats tools but I have to gain experience.
Studying pro's games is also a good idea, but it's less easy for me.

A week has passed.

I have almost followed my goal (about 6 hours of serious play and tsumego).
However, I am not quite satisfied with my games.

I will take a some time to become again a strong 2k.

So I'll take an objective to be 3 dan kgs in 6 months.

I'll try to play a serious game against a dan player each day.
I addition, I decided to join two leagues of KGS :
  • Advanced Study Room League
  • ART of Go League

dunno why they call the "ART of go league" a league, its more like a lot of tournaments quickly coming after the other. the definition of a league is a lot more different but oh well, whats in a name right? hope you have fun!:D

Thank you stalkor.
I think a league can take differents forms, but yes, AoG league is a serie of tournaments.

Yesterday I played a game against a stronger player (2dan kgs):

Do you have any advices / comments ?
