Re: Looking for guinea pigs for new site theme
In general, the look is somewhat unpolished and too busy - perhaps due to too much variation in the fonts (I can see at least 10 different sizes, styles, types atm.)? Perhaps due to the color combinations/too many colors?
While "salmon pink" might not be the actual color of the background, that is a good description of how it appears to me.
Also, the thread name big and bold above each post looks clunky.

Re: Looking for guinea pigs for new site theme
Looks pretty good, a few things I noticed:
1) The "egosearch" is no longer available at the top via "View your posts", I like being able to easily check up on my conversations. Not sure if this is intentional, but I like having it.
2) I don't really like the white vs. black stones which serve as notification of new posts in the thread. Maybe I'm just not used to them yet, but the black stone just doesn't jump out at me. I know the goal is to keep with the theme, but I think I'd prefer a tinted stone for something unread, rather than black.

I like that one, especially the icons indicating thread status.

Oh, that's what they are! I thought they were just gigantic dots. Hmmm.

The "view your posts" button is still there - it's in the gray box next to the new message notifications.

I don't know if someone already found this, but there's no "like this post" button... Or I can't find it.

Re: Looking for guinea pigs for new site theme
One suggestion for the new theme, if this is even possible (or maybe we already have it?):
As we get more and more options to fill out under our user information, threads are starting to get stretched by the amount of information people fill in (you know, someone posts "lol" and they have ten empty lines below it due to autobiographical information in the left-hand panel). Not really a big deal, but if I could turn off the user info for users I'm already familiar with, or all users, I would probably use it.

Re: Looking for guinea pigs for new site theme
Actually, it wouldn't be hard at all to make it collapsible/expandable. I'll look into that when I get around to working on it.

Re: Looking for guinea pigs for new site theme
Is it just me, or has the site become slower after the new theme was introduced?

Re: Looking for guinea pigs for new site theme
I'm sleepy and I forgot if I had already mentioned, but there is no "like" button for posts anymore in the new design (and afaik, likes are no longer appearing). I'm missing it already

Re: Looking for guinea pigs for new site theme
The theme has been there for a long time, but it's just recently that we asked people to try it out. The site shouldn't be slower because of that - nothing's actually changed.
Some things like "likes" are missing from the new theme. They'll get added in, but it was mostly designed before that feature was part of the forum, so it never got merged in.

How much warning before the new theme becomes _the_ theme?
