My name is a play on words with these two meanings:
1) Playing go in the mountains (like "beach volleyball"). I love the outdoors and seeing beautiful sights in nature, so the idea of silently playing go with someone on the top of a mountain is pure bliss to me.
2) In the card game Magic: The Gathering, there is a well-known type of deck called Blue Control (blue = one of the five colors of magic in Magic; control = based on a defensive strategy). It is jokingly known as Island Go, because that is what someone says on their turn while playing it: They announce that they are playing an Island (the basic source of blue mana), do absolutely nothing else on their turn (because it's a defensive deck and usually only reacts during its opponent's turn) and then say "go" as in "it's your turn". Well, the basic resource of red mana in the game is a Mountain. The idea of making a deck called Mountain Go sounds like some kind of noob concoction since red is the fastest, most aggressive color in magic, requiring the opposite strategy from blue control. And when I created the name several months ago for KGS, I was new to the game of go. The end!
I since occasionally regret picking this name because it sounds corny to have the word "go" in a username, but I don't want to change KGS accounts and I want my username on go websites to match my KGS name, so I'm basically stuck with it. Still, I usually like it, and I can get behind the idea of being corny.
