Does anyone have a big boat?

Post by wessanenoctupus »

This sounds quite silly, but I have a dream to organize a world open tournament, on a boat, somewhere warm, with good food and affordable entry.

So, The first obstacle that I am encountering is the absence of a boat. That being said, who has a boat that could fit ~300 people?

How about a themed cruise. We would be called an "affinity group." could have workshops, several tournaments. Perhaps destination could be Go related. I'd prefer a New Orleans, USA, departure :-)

Edit to add:

This seems perfect, (departs Hong Kong)

Just make sure that there is a pump for filling scuba tanks, and I'm in.

I always see advertisements in Go Weekly for Go Cruises. It would probably be a lot of fun.

Yes, we'll be sure not to put all the strong player boards on one side of the boat.

I think you have to worry about the weaker players too. If all of the "heavy" stones they play are on one side of the boat... ;-)

I totally forgot I had posted this. It seems that there was an Amsterdam boat tournament, though it was not nearly as big as the one I am planning. Though I still need a boat..
