Flattr

Post by alejo »

-Flattr is a social micropayment platform that lets you show love for the things you like.
-Help support the people you like and enable them to continue with what they do.
-Add your own things to Flattr and receive appreciation from others.

Sincerely, I think it's all wonderfully explained on this video

From my point of view, I think this would be an interesting way to motivate users to participate more (making reviews, publishing news...) as well as a possible economical support for the forum.

From Flattr's FAQ:
Of the monthly amount we have a 10% fee to keep all the Flattr systems afloat...

10%??? That's HUGE if they actually get much traffic with this concept.

Other than that, I sort of like the idea. Not sure, though.

Yeah, I agree with that... 10% would be huge if they were to get that much traffic. But I'm quite certain they'll modify that percentage if numbers were higher.
