From my point of view, I think this would be an interesting way to motivate users to participate more (making reviews, publishing news...) as well as a possible economical support for the forum.

Yeah, I agree with that... 10% would be huge if they were to get that much traffic. But I'm quite certain they'll modify that percentage if numbers were higher.
