I think that if there's enough interest it can be made as a feature request. I'd imagine a lot of the code that's needed for it to work already exists from the kibitz support for title matches.

The initial conceptualization of the Malkovitch format was based on a desire to see the thought process of stronger players. So perhaps its a good thing there are so many SDK/Dan games out there

That said I like your subdivision idea, but answer me this. How would you place a game between a 1 dan and a 12 kyu for example?

All good points. I did see the sticky in the past and did ponder how this question would fit in. Bottom line, put the game in the most advanced ranking bracket.

I guess as so far as the OGS platform being used as a mirror, I was simply struggling to wrap my brain around running a game on a BB site alone, however I'm much better now.

I'm not sure what the best place to put this is. Ideally I would have made a new thread, but that doesn't seem appropriate in this forum, and the topic doesn't seem appropriate for another forum. So here it is.

I had this idea of a Malkovich-based teaching game. The idea would be to get one stronger player and one weaker player, preferably with at least a 6 stone difference. Aside from that, it proceeds like a normal Malkovich game. I would imagine there's no problem with the stronger player looking at the weaker player's comments, but the weaker player should not look at the stronger player's comments.

I think that it would be a great learning experience, obviously for the weaker player in the game, but additionally for other players around the same strength who probably all make a lot of the same types of mistakes.

Of course, it's probably not super exciting for the stronger player, so maybe there's not much interest in doing something like this.

But if there is, I would of course not mind volunteering myself

You could just put up a request for such a game in the malkovich thread, and include your current rank, I think.
