Shibano Toramanu v Suzuki Shinji

Post by Elom »

Tomorrow, a match up between 鈴木伸二, 五段 and 芝野虎丸, 二段 only this October will occur in the first round of the 42'nd Gosei.
While the disparity in status is clear, considering that Shibano ousted Fujita Akhiko 4p and Akiyama Jiro 9p to arrive suggests a reasonable fight.

One other interesting point to note is that when rummaging through the Japanese Pros, December, list of mamumamu0143, I struggled to find him... until I looked at the top 15, finding him at a RD well within the normal range (0.30), which was quite interesting for rating system debate (if not astonishing in any case).

"A fine Gotation is a diamond in the hand of a dan of wit and a pebble in the hand of a kyu" —Joseph Raux misquoted.
