Chinese Ko Rules

Post by RobertJasiek »

According to Jean Hossenlopp, about 3 years ago (would be 2007) the Chinese Rules were changed by skipping the referee ko rules and using superko only. Can anybody confirm or deny this, please? It would be pretty surprising because, during the 6th International Go Rules Forum in July 2006, the present Chinese professionals did not like superko. The WMSG 2008 Rules, which were heavily influenced by the Chinese, do use superko though.

Chen Zuyuan, China's leading rules expert has told me: After 2002, the Chinese Rules have not changed. The ko rules exceptions for referees are still valid. However, in one particular game with a triple ko, a referee has ruled according to superko. Which game might that have been?
