Hello from Nagoya, Japan

Post by Sivak »

Although I am indeed living in Japan, I am originally from the US.

I got back into the game about a year ago after a long hiatus. My hope is to reach a rank of 1D someday. Japan's "Nihon Ki-in" thinks I'm a 3K, but I feel better calling myself 5K. Best feeling was getting a draw vs a pro in a 5 stone game.

I do get to go go local go clubs in town, but my primary opponent is Crazy Stone on my Android device. I get some online games in here and there, too. I also am hoping to make some videos as I attempt to climb the ladder to 1D.

Am also learning shogi and got into backgammon again, though go is my main game.

If you're into old school games, it may interest you to know that I made a homebrew NES game back in 2010 entitled "Battle Kid: Fortress of Peril".

Anyway, that's my story.
That's the end of this chapter.

I like the Nihon Kiin there. Nice cafe. :)

Good luck playing. Shogi is fun too.
