Ôteai and number of games

Post by Ferran »

I was compiling some games (by Yasuda Yasutoshi; I've put what I found at "Books", but it's not much) and I was wondering...

We used to have multiple games between relatively unknown players (Nakamura Yutaro, Yasuda Yasutoshi...). It's not that they're "nobodies", but they're not on the same level of name recognition as Cho Chikun, Hideo Otake... to say nothing of the likes of Iyama Yûta or Nakamura Sumire. The Ôteai was a source of games for such.

Have the different prize leagues increased in size? Is there a new source of games for people who don't make it into enough tournaments?

And I started this thinking on Kifu and learning, but... is there an alternate source of income for players who no longer have the Ôteai?

Thank you. Take care.
