Re: Tips for clubs, club leaders, teachers during corona/cov
To give you an idea:
My go club moved the weekly club evening to OGS. We meet same day and time as before, scheduled. Attendance online is lower than in real life though.
Club tournament will be held, but this year online. Discord will be used concurrently for communication (voice and video).
Youth virtually impossible to reach out to. Parents and children are too busy, and children have already other online (school, club) activities and other games online (not go).
I fear that, when this is over, we will have an outflow of (adult and youth) members. How to retain members?
What are your suggestions, tips, experiences?

Re: Tips for clubs, club leaders, teachers during corona/cov
My experience is similar to yours. We meet on KGS+Discord at the regular club hours but attendance is lower, and children disappeared. That's unfortunate because this year we had more chidren than the previous years. The club won't re-open before September.
We already had a club tournament just before the lockdown, so we won't organize another one, but online tournaments are certainly a good way to keep up interest in go. Maybe one idea: organize a junior online tournament, not limited to your club. Games should be played with handicap. Insist that all participants are welcome, including beginners.
No guarantee that this will work. Some new people will appear, but some people that used to come to your club may not show up.

Same as others, KGS+Discord. KGS mainly because of its rengo-feature.
Attendance is actually slightly higher than normal because people can drop in and leave more flexible.

I'm trying to get children playing on OGS. It works a little bit with 3-4 children attending, but that is only 10% of real life attendance before corona. Still, I'm hoping it will grow.

Re: Tips for clubs, club leaders, teachers during corona/cov
we meet online twice a week, at the beginning of quarantine almost the entire group gathered and had some kind of drive, but now the mood of the club members is not the best, so only 3-5 people gather us. I think everyone is just emotionally tired.
