2020 European Women's Champ.

Post by Ferran »

We're a tad late: second round of the initial league is almost finished, but there's still a lot to go. So far, Elvina Kalsberg (3d) and Ariane Ougier (4d) are the only undefeated players, with two victories, and Anna Melnyk (2k), Valeria Klochikhina (2d) and Lova Wåhlin (2d) the only ones with two defeats, but some players have only played once.

The championship's website is being updated quite regularly and it provides their OGS username, too.

Take care.

Qualified: Elvina Kalsberg (4d, RU), Isabel Donle (1d, DE), Alexandra Urban (2d, HU), Manja Marz (3d, DE), Natalia Kovaleva (5d, RU), Virzhinia Shalneva (4d, RU), Ariane Ougier (4d, FR), Dina Burdakova (5d, RU). They'll face each other in that order. The last game of group C was... interesting. Apparently, there was a SODOS tie break, but I can't seem to find it in the page. Otherwise, this morning we had potentially 3 ties.

Anyhow, next weekend, quarter finals. Take care.

It ended yesterday, and the main results are:

1st place: Natalia Kovaleva
2nd place: Manja Marz
3rd place: Dina Burdakova
4th place: Isabel Donle

You can find the SGFs at the tournament's site, and some of the last games on twitch. I think there were supposed to be other games, but I can only find finals (main and small). If I understood it right [*I didn't*], Kovaleva 4d won her fifth in a row, a first.

Take care.
