On "Timing - time to think about it"
Jürgen Mattern's book is just a problem collection. As such, it is worth reading as a 3d but it is non-essential. Any other problem collection will also do. For reading the book, it is sufficient to look at the diagrams. The book used to be available for €4 (plus postage, ugh).

I was just joining in on what I thought was a joke to begin with. The book is not "Der richtige Punkt" but "Go - der richtige Zeitpunkt". A play on words I thought but it is claimed to really be about "timing".
