Is there a way for users to embed youtube videos directly in a post? I didn't find a way to do this. (I think enabling this would require the forum admins, to install a mod like this.) I have no idea whether this means a lot of extra work for forum admins, and whether it could be abused for spam. (other than rickrolling a youtube game review).
I am just wondering whether this would be possible, and if it is something the L19 users would like to see. Curious about your thoughts.

Re: Embedding youtube videos in posts
There actually already is a way to do this. It's with the use of the "flash" tags.
See this post: viewtopic.php?p=1199#p1199 (in Fwiffo's hidden tag).
For those too lazy to click on the link above, this is directly from Fwiffo's post:
It is not widely known as it doesn't seem to be documented anywhere, but thought I should at least respond to this since I remembered it from before.

You can embed those videos:Code: Select all
[flash=480,385]http://www.youtube.com/v/3L5z1Sx5Huo&hl=en_US&fs=1&[/flash]

I haven't looked into that issue, but embedding arbitrary flash could be a security risk.

If this means other users having to download large unwanted files, then I would vote for the poster to be fed into a mincing machine. Links work perfectly well.

You wouldn't have to download them unless you clicked on them. But I think it's a Bad Idea no matter what...
